Ohhh Gabbrielle...... :-)

So....Gabbrielle had an eye Dr. appointment yesterday. At her 6 year well check, her left eye tested 20/50 and her right eye 20/30. This led to an appointment with an optometrist. They tested her left eye at 20/40 and her right eye at 20/25 with a very slight astigmitism. All's good, said the eye Dr., no need for glasses at this point. And off we go..... On the way home, Gabbrielle asks me "is kidding just like lying?" I didn't think anything of it, so we delved into the differences behind the heart of kidding and the heart of lying. So ended the discussion and I dropped her back off at school. At the end of the school day, I get a text from Gabbrielle's best friend's Mom. "Is G ok? Emma came home and told me she is color blind?!? I hope everything is ok" I couldn't help it....I laughed and laughed and laughed. I couldn't stop laughing. I texted back, thanks for your concern and yes, everything is fine, but I can't wait to hear this story. Come to find out, after talking with Gabbrielle, she pretended that she couldn't tell what color everyone's skin was :-) Emma's skin was blue.....Irene's skin was rainbow.....and so on. Hence the diagnosis.....color blind. In our world, this is somewhat heartwarming. We talked with her teacher later that day at Open House and her teacher said, ahhh...it's all coming together now. Apparently, Emma was helping Gabbrielle around school that day making sure she got where she needed to go. Very sweet. Gabbrielle definitely milked the "eye Dr. appointment". Now, I look back to our conversation in the car and it all becomes very clear :-) Sweet Gabbrielle, you make mama laugh.
